Larrikin is the third studio album from Australian hip-hop outfit Lyricals, which released their debut album in February.
In the two years since, the band has released two more albums, and recently released their third.
The album’s title track, which debuted at #1 on the Australian Billboard 200, has gone viral in its second week on the charts, and earned a massive response on social media, thanks to a video of the track, with thousands of people taking to Twitter to share the video.
Larrikins new album is due out on October 12.
In an interview with The Australian Music News last week, the singer said the band’s next album would be called “The Biggest Album Ever”.
“We don’t think of it as a follow-up to the album that we’ve done,” she said.
“We think it’s a big record.
We’ve got a new record and we’re going to record a new album, so it’s not just a record of our past, it’s something that we think we’re gonna take on and really evolve with the music that we make.”
Larrie was asked about the band getting a new producer.
“That’s one of those things that’s not really on the agenda,” she laughed.
“The next one’s gonna be called ‘The Bigest Album Ever’.
I think that’s the one we’re all thinking about.
I think the next record we’re really gonna do is something that’s really different to the last one.”
Lyrical’s Larianne LaCroix said in an interview that she has always been drawn to big, melodic pop songs.
“I was born in the 80s, and I was influenced by bands like the Beatles and the Stones, so I really think pop songs are very powerful, they have a kind of charm about them, and you just feel so good when you’re on the dance floor and when you can feel that big feeling when you sing it, and it’s just that great,” she told The Australian.
“So I think [Larris] just has that same kind of magic, but I also think it has something to do with their music.”
