Astral Music Publishing has launched a new online store with the intention of growing the digital music business in Australia.
The online music store features albums and artists from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, The Black Keys, Depeche Mode, Coldplay and The Black Eyed Peas.
It is the first time Astral has launched its own store in Australia and will open its first store on December 16.
“I am proud to be launching our own store and I know that we are going the right direction in the digital world,” Astral’s CEO, Scott Cappelli, said in a statement.
“Australia has long been one of the most dynamic markets for music and our vision is to bring more music and artists to our customers.”
Mr Cappellis first album released online, 2016’s “I Am a Zombie”, was made available for free download on iTunes on October 28.
The company has been developing a new service for more than three years.
“We have been working on the platform for over three years now, but our initial product launch in October of 2016 has been an absolute game changer in terms of our sales and user acquisition,” Mr Cappeli said.
“The launch of our new store is an important milestone in our journey to become a global leader in digital music and we are confident that our new product will become a vital part of our music business.”
Astral’s new store will feature albums from artists including the Black Keys and The Chemical Guys.
Astral Music has already sold over 10 million albums worldwide.
“A lot of the things that we were doing in the past years have not worked out as we would have hoped,” Mr Bowerman said.
He said Astral was a different company now.
“There is no money in it.
There are no customers.
It is very, very challenging,” Mr Fagan said.
The new store was launched with a new slogan and will be called Astral Music.
Mr Capper said Astral had grown organically over the last three years and had the capacity to grow further.
“As a company we have grown organagically,” he said.
